Boat hire in Cudillero

Cudillero is the amphitheatre village hanging over its harbour, the most photographed in Asturias, with the old harbour below the coloured houses, the new harbour with the breakwater and Cabo Vidio to the west; but the Google Maps register returns no boat rental companies based in the municipality. Cudillero's boating is the scheduled coast cruises, to see the village from the sea, which is how it looks best. For bareboat, Luarca (Valdés), 27 km away, has one company, and Gijón, 43 km, 16 and the region's big marina.

The season runs from June to September. It is open Cantabrian: swell nearly always, a tide of more than four metres and the old harbour drying out at low tide. You go out in the morning with a wave forecast.

Expect 20–40% less outside July and August. Deposits run from €300 to €2,000 and fuel is extra. Each company sets its own prices.
