Boat rental in Palafrugell

Palafrugell is the town, 4 km inland; boats are rented in its three coves, each with its own page in the directory: Calella de Palafrugell, with 3 companies of sailing boats and skippered llaüts; Llafranc, with 3 of day motorboats and a small harbour; and Tamariu, with 2 of motorboats on buoys. None of the three has a marina, and Cap de Sant Sebastià, with the lighthouse, sits between Llafranc and Tamariu. It is the best-known stretch of the Costa Brava and you see all of it in a morning by boat, with Aiguablava and the Begur coves under 3 miles north. For more choice, Palamós, 6 km away, has 29 companies.

The season runs from May to September. The coves face east: they hold up in a tramontana and get choppy in a levante. In August the cove car parks fill by mid-morning.

Indicative high-season prices from the directory's reference table, reviewed September 2026: a no-licence motorboat costs €120–250 a day; a RIB of 6–8 m, €250–650; a 10–12 m sailing yacht, €400–900 bareboat or €600–1,500 skippered; a catamaran, €1,000–2,500; a skippered motor yacht, from €900. Expect 20–40% less outside July and August. Deposits run from €300 to €2,000 and fuel is extra. Each company sets its own prices.
