It is a fleet of day motorboats, jet skis (three companies) and the odd skippered trip, for cruising off the Mojácar beaches and south to the coves of Macenas and Sopalmo and, with a licence and a full day, to the northern end of the Cabo de Gata park (Agua Amarga, about 8 miles). Carboneras, 16 km away, adds 10 companies.
The season runs from April to October, with several companies open all year thanks to the climate of the Almería levante. With an east wind the coast closes. There are scheduled boat trips from Garrucha for those who would rather not charter.
