Boat hire in Granada

Granada's coast is short and mountainous, and its rental fleet sits in one harbour: Marina del Este, in La Herradura (Almuñécar), with 14 of the province's 20 companies and ten of them within 500 m of the marina. It is a small marina wedged between cliffs, with a direct run to the Cerro Gordo coves and the seabed off Punta de la Mona, one of the clearest stretches of the Andalusian coast. Motril, with 3 companies in its marina, and Almuñécar complete the picture.

Five companies advertise no-licence boats and four jet skis; three have motor yachts and two skippers, but this is not a big-boat coast. The useful season runs from April to October, with a calm sea most of the summer in the lee of the sierra. For sailing boats and catamarans, the nearest choice is Málaga, an hour away. Marina del Este is 25 minutes from Nerja and an hour from Málaga and Granada city by motorway: the natural harbour for anyone holidaying on the Costa Tropical or in the Alpujarra who wants a day at sea without driving to the Costa del Sol.

Indicative high-season prices from the directory's reference table, reviewed September 2026: a no-licence motorboat costs €120–250 a day; a RIB of 6–8 m, €250–650; a 10–12 m sailing yacht, €400–900 bareboat or €600–1,500 skippered; a catamaran, €1,000–2,500; a skippered motor yacht, from €900. Expect 20–40% less outside July and August. Deposits run from €300 to €2,000 and fuel is extra. Each company sets its own prices.
