Boat hire in Getaria

Getaria is the village of Elcano and the fish grills, with the fishing harbour sheltered by Monte San Antón, the Mouse of Getaria, and the txakoli vineyards on the slopes; but the Google Maps register returns no boat rental companies based in the municipality. The nearest are in Zumaia, 4 km away, with 2 companies and jet skis at Marina Urola, and in San Sebastián, 18 km, with 8 and sailing boats. From Zumaia, Getaria and its bay are 2 miles by sea; from Getaria, the coast east to Zarautz or west to the Zumaia Flysch.

The season runs from June to September. Getaria harbour is one of the most sheltered in Gipuzkoa thanks to the Mouse; outside, Cantabrian with swell and a tide of more than four metres.

Expect 20–40% less outside July and August. Deposits run from €300 to €2,000 and fuel is extra. Each company sets its own prices.
