La Gomera is 35 minutes by ferry from Los Cristianos and has three harbours with a marina (San Sebastián, Playa de Santiago and Valle Gran Rey), but very little rental: one dedicated company in Playa de Santiago (Alajeró), on the south coast, and another in the San Sebastián marina. The south and west coasts, in the lee of the trade winds, have a calm sea most of the year and are where the whale-watching boats and the trips along the Los Órganos cliffs leave from, the island's main water activity.
