Hiring a boat in Muros
Muros is the seafaring town on the northern shore of the Ría de Muros e Noia, with the arcaded old town above the harbour, but the Google Maps register returns no boat rental companies based in the municipality. The ría is the quietest of the Rías Baixas, with Noia at the head and the Carnota beach and Monte Louro at the mouth, and the nearest companies are on the other side of the Barbanza, on the Ría de Arousa: Boiro (2 companies, 20 km), A Pobra do Caramiñal (4, 21 km) and Ribeira (2, 27 km). From Ribeira you can come up to Muros by sea round Corrubedo, with a licence or skipper.
The season runs from June to September. The ría is sheltered and can be sailed in almost any wind; outside Monte Louro there is Atlantic swell.
